May 3, 2015: German authorities these days looks more cautious towards their national security. In a latest accusation, the country's foreign intelligence agency has allegedly violated the laws by helping the United State spy on European enterprises and governments for over a decade. For which, German top public prosecutors will investigate the case.
The spokesman from prosecutor office confirming the media reports says, "A preliminary investigation has been started." And federal prosecutor Herald Range himself will be questioned by a parliamentary committe looking into the affair in Berlin on Wednesday, reports Reuters. Among other concerns, the NSA reportedly gave German spies 40,000 surveillance targets such as internet addresses and phone numbers, several thousands of which were illegal.
The opposition politicians too jump into the oppurtunity demanding more information about the unfolding scandal from Chancellor Angela Merkel's government.
Last month, antitrust charges has been levied on United States top technology giant Google by European commission. Although, it's not about spying but for favoring their own company in searches over others.
