Samsung to unveil major innovation in their upcoming Internet of Things Event

May 6, 2016: The South Korean electronics manufacturing giant Samsung Electronics  today announced that in upcoming world's largest Internet of Things (IoT) event, the company's President and Chief Strategy Officer Young Sohn will deliver the opening keynote address, where he will highlight the company's major milestones in area of IoT that will ignite the new wave of groundbreaking IoT devices and services.
The company plans to reveal new chip platforms to power internet-connected devices, ranging from wearables to smart washing machines, reports CNET.

The group's chief in his statement said: "Today, we face an unprecented set of global challenges in areas such as climate change, healthcare, aging demographics, urbanization, and access to food and clean water." He further adds, "By continuing efforts to connect devices and people to achieve greater insights, we have a huge oppurtunity to work with others in the industry, to tackle these real-world issues in ways that will fundamentally change people's lives for the better."

Earlier in January, the company CEO BK Yoon at Electronics Show said: "The company intends to play a key role in this market(IoT), with the intention to equip 90% of all its devices with IoT capabilities by 2017, while making its entire product line IoT capable within five years." 
The event titled "2nd Annual Internet of Things World' scheduled on 12th May at San Francisco, will bring together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, developers and emerging companies to discuss the future of IoT and its profound implications. Major players of the industry including Google, Microsoft and IBM will attend the event.
