March 21, 2015: As per BGR reports, Facebook researchers had recently found a bug which gave iOS and android apps an access to your private Facebook photos without your consent or knowledge. When this matter came to their engineers notice, they fixed this bug just in 30 minutes. But, this doesn't seem to be a final solution.
Although, the bug has been fixed, Facebook worries are far from over because Facebook photos are still vulnerable of being accessed by any mobile application that has access to your Facebook account.
As per the security experts, "Facebook mobile application has a feature called 'sync photos' which help us to keep a back (up to 2GB) of our mobile photos, This feature enables mobile application to upload all the photos taken by your mobile to your account and it would remain private until you publish it. Sync photos feature is turned on by default in some mobile phones. We can control it in the app settings. Most of us unaware of this feature. If you don't want Facebook to back up your photos, go to app settings and turn it off."
At the moment, Facebook fixed this bug by white-listing all the apps which should be allowed to access Facebook photos, meanwhile other apps which doesn't require Facebook photo album access will remain blocked.
